Missing Person
This is so horrific….The story about Ben Stevenson’s disappearance on the week end was on the newspaper today. Such a distraught thing when you know who Ben is (or was?). Ben works for AIG in Melbourne and looking after my utilities clients. I last spoke to him on Friday afternoon, going through some renewal issues. He’s been missing since Sunday morning and the police are continuing the search for Ben.
The following is on the Herald Sun paper today:
GRAVE fears are held for a rower missing in the Yarra River at Richmond. Searchers worked from dawn yesterday to try to find the 26-year-old. Police divers joined the search in the afternoon.
The South Yarra man, believed to suffer from epilepsy, left Richmond Rowing Club in a single scull about 6.30am yesterday. His boat was found by four rowers just after 7am, about 100m north of the Swan St bridge. "The longer it goes, the more concerns we have," said Sen-Sgt Bernie Jackson of Melbourne CIU. "I can tell you that the male does have a medical condition that may have led to this event. But until we locate him we won't know the full details."
Distraught friends of the man, including his girlfriend, gathered at the Batman Ave rowing club.
He is 188cm tall with blond hair, blue eyes and a medium/strong build. He was wearing black and yellow Richmond rowing club shorts and a top.
I wish for a safe return of Ben and my thoughts are with his family and AIG. I will keep you informed of what happen to Ben within the next few days.
